Getting Better

I took Sunday off due to chaffing issues - not to mention walking was still something of a challenge.

Monday morning I went for a brisk walk with a mommies group and surprisingly struggled to keep up. My left knee and right ankle were hurting and made it difficult to complete the 6 mile walk. The pain was more than an ache- it was indication of minor injuries. So I decided not to do the run I'd planned for after the walk.

Tuesday, I was still experiencing the pain, so I took the day off and focused on core strength training instead.

Wednesday, I did part of a dance video with Ethan- making a point to take it easy and watch my form. Afterward I did some yoga stretching.

Thursday, I got up after less than 5hrs of frequently interrupted sleep and made it to Lake Murray by 6am. (After leaving Ethan with Grandma Jill.) I stretched well, jogged 2 1/2 miles without walking, then sprinted 1/4 mile, ran another mile, sprinted 1/4 mile, ran another mile, and sprinted another 1/4 mile, covering a total of 5 1/4 miles. And NO pain! Sore? Absolutely! Pain? Nodda! AND I finished about 1/4 mile ahead of the sisters! I'm getting faster! Yipee!

Friday, I plan to take off in prep for Saturday's 16 mile run from Oceanside to Del Mar!

Please pray for my run Saturday, that God will give me added strength, the right mindset, and a good running partner to talk to and take my mind off how sore my body is! THANKS! :-D

New Friends

These are my Thursday morning friends. Susie is on the left and Lisa is on the right.
They're sisters. If I finish anywhere near them, I know I'm doing WELL!

This is Claire. She saved my hide on the Sea World run.
Wouldn't have made it without her!
