Weekend Review
So the weekend wasn't fabulous, as diet and exercise go, but neither was it a total disaster. I allowed myself a "vacation" meal of IHOP pancakes Saturday night and didn't exercise at all Sunday, but otherwise made very healthy choices and did get in a couple hours of walking around carrying/chasing Ethan on Saturday. So, it was a weekend and I enjoyed it.
Now it is Monday and I'm already back on track. I started my day with 16oz of water, 16min of ab work courtesy Claudia Schiffer's Perfectly Fit Abs video, and a bowl of Total cereal. Once Ethan wakes up (which I expect any minute now) we will do the Dance Baby Dance cardio workout and then I will finish the rest of the CS Abs video. (My abs had reached failing point so I stopped in favor of better form later.)
I think that this week I will really focus on my abdominal and back muscles. I'd love to see my waist measurement drop even the slightest bit again on Friday, but either way I know that having a stronger core helps me in performing not only my daily tasks, but also improves my ability to properly execute other exercises.
Speaking of core... lately I've been noticing a lot of exercise videos which use the ball and really focus on "the core". They basically make sure that whatever other part of the body you're exercising, you're also working the core simultaneously. For example they've figured out how to do bicep curls AND work the core at the same time. Talk about bang for your buck! Sounds good to me! Only I don't really need to go out and blow a precious ten dollars (or more) on another exercise video- especially since our video & dvd cases are already overflowing- so I'm going to try to look these exercises up online and see if I can't incoorporate some of them in somehow.
